"I'm only 29, why am I falling apart?"

Well, it's been a weird few weeks for me. First off, I went to the dermatologist to check on a few moles and he found a basal cell carcinoma. He then lectured me on the facts about tanning beds, my argument was..."Do I look like I use a tanning bed???"!
Then this past 2 weeks I've been having a lot of pain & swelling in my neck. In fact, I had a huge knot in my neck that was painful to touch! So I talked myself in to going to the doc. I knew he would think I was crazy because it was probably just a sinus infection or something simple like that. Keep in mind I had no symptoms of a sinus infection/fever or anything. Well, he poked around my neck & asked me lots of questions. He ordered blood work & an ultrasound of my neck. Long story short...the ultrasound showed that I have a 1.2 cm nodule in my right thyroid and a .6 in my left thyroid. My regular doc. referred me to a surgeon for further testing & he has ordered me a CT scan asap. I'm waiting to hear from them as we speak. The funny thing about all this is that the big knot in my neck ended up being a virus of some kind, and as soon as I went to the doc on Monday it was gone by Tuesday. If it hadn't been for that knot the doc would have never checked my thyroid. I know that only had to be God! I'll keep everyone posted.
